Last night at the State of the Union address, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton confirmed something we’ve been wondering about since the Golden Globes: Are headbands now a thing? The answer is yes. Yes, they are.
Clinton attended the president’s annual accounting of what’s going on in America in a smart black pantsuit, a few bracelets and rings and one discreet, thin black headband accented by a little sparkle here and there. She’s been wearing headbands ever since she started getting photographed publicly — and probably since long before that — but never before now have they made such a connection with the au courant of the accessories world. After all, Charlize Theron, Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips just wore them at the Globes, so maybe years of loyalty (even in the face of challenging snide remarks from Camp Fashion) are finally starting to pay off?
Take a look at a few pictures of Hillary at last night’s address, plus a few from earlier in her headband career, below.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
