The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack Is Epic

jennifer lawrence as katniss everdeeneIf the Twilight series taught us anything, it’s that you don’t need to read the books or watch the films to enjoy the accompanying soundtracks — especially when said series causes such pandemonium that their music supervisor has their pick of the radio’s upper echelons.

Earlier this month we got our first taste of the sounds behind the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire from Coldplay. Their single “Atlas” embodies much of what we love about the music behind fantasy films — an earthy resonance and instrumentals that make us feel things — so we’ve been waiting patiently to see who else would help score the story.

Now, the entire track list of of the album has been revealed and what we love most is that both Christina Aguilera and Patti Smith are on the roster. Other names that make us equally enthused: Lorde, Phantogram, and Ellie Goulding.

While we’re not Hunger Games junkies per say, between what’s sure to be an epic soundtrack, and Vanity Fair’s new spread featuring the cast in full film garb, we might just have to go see Catching Fires in theaters.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire won’t hit theaters until November 22nd, but you can snag the soundtrack on  November 19th. View the track list, below:
