‘If You Can Shop Online, You Can Learn Online,’ Bay Path College Tells Women

Attention, female online shoppers! This probably hasn’t occurred to you as you were shopping for body glitter online with your head in the clouds. But if you have more overdraft fees than college credits, the solution has arrived. [Insert sharp intake of breath here.] Bay Path College‘s new ads use a little encouraging sexism to push you to open up a tab and your mind to online learning, Jezebel reports.

Oh, Bay Path College. We know your research shows that women like to shop online, and to be fair, we can’t write off the women’s liberal arts school. Barbara Walters is the closing speaker for their Women’s Leadership Conference coming up next month, and she doesn’t just go anywhere, but telling women that a “diploma is the perfect accessory for job or home,” just makes us sad.

At least this other lame attempt to lure girls into science careers was more entertaining. But seriously, if there’s lipstick and accessories involved, college could be like so amazing.
