Like us and Daft Punk, it seems Jean Paul Gaultier is in a bit of a love affair with one six-foot-one, St. Louis supermodel.
Karlie Kloss is back as the face of Gaultier’s latest campaign, and this time she’s strapped in head-to-toe leather with her hair slicked back in a Croydon facelift ponytail, and wearing a spiked heavy metal ear cuff that would surely make Cara Delevingne green with envy.
The abstract black-and-white ad, lensed by French-American photographer Stéphane Sednaoui — who was also behind the designer’s kooky Diet Coke turn — boasts a background awash in trippy imagery, where faded reflections of Kloss surround her statuesque frame. The edgy ads are even more turned up than last year’s Gotham-esque campaign, proving that the super sweet model is ever the chameleon. This time, she looks ready to dethrone Rooney Mara for the remaining Stieg Larsson thrillers.
