Jennifer Lawrence may be getting her (not very) fair share of haterade right now over her Meryl Streep quip at the beginning of her Golden Globes acceptance speech, but girl’s got bigger fish to fry. Like the unnamed tabloid that allegedly photoshopped her butt.
Lawrence took to the Late Show with David Letterman Tuesday night to set the record straight about an image she saw of herself in a celebrity gossip magazine. The image, taken while Lawrence was in Hawaii with her brother, shows the Silver Linings Playbook actress wearing a blue bikini, walking away from the camera and looking over her shoulder at the photographer.
“It’s not my butt and I will not take responsibility for it. It’s a 90-year-old butt that’s been photoshopped onto my body, and is posing as my butt,” she declared, offering up alternative pictures of herself to prove that she’s not immune from “bloat” or a bad photo. “I will take responsibility for that. But I will not take responsibility for that butt… That’s not my butt and that’s the most important thing I want everyone to take away this evening.”
We applaud Lawrence for taking such a strong stance. Now, anyone want to let us know which magazine she’s talking about?
