Last weekend, we the boys of the Jersey Shore got their share of the spotlight via a spread in Interview Magazine shot by Terry Richardson and featuring model Bar Refaeli. We’ve been waiting for months for photo evidence of the Jersey Shore girls in Harper’s Bazaar, and finally, our wishes have come true.
Harper’s Bazaar editors primped and trained JWoww, Snooki, and Sammy Sweetheart for a spread shot by photographer Danielle Levitt. Snooki talks hair, JWoww talks implants, and fingers crossed, Sammy will talk Ronnie. Who would have thought that we’d see Snooki’s name next to J. Mendel, Michael Kors, and Valentino?
“It was a teen Guidette thing,” Snooki told Harper’s Bazaar of her pouf. “And when everyone grew out of it, I just kept it. I’m launching the Snookit,” she says, her own version of Bumpits.
Gowns, coiffes, and Tinsley Mortimor as an etiquette teacher — the magazine sure went all out to try to give these ladies some lessons in manners and fashion.
“I know a couple things about manners,” admits Snooki. “I just don’t use them.”
“I feel like I already know how to be a lady,” says Sammi, though she, like her costars, agrees after some convincing that their new looks are upgrades from their usual blinged-out style.
Ultimately, the Jersey girls decide it’s too much hard work. “It hurts!” says Snooki after she’s back in her ensemble of pleather leggings and animal-print top. “I’d rather just pose in clubs.”
We must say, Sammy Sweetheart actually looks quite stunning in a J. Mendel black one-shouldered silk gown, and JWoww looks almost as if she could be a blushing bride in her Marchesa white dress. But Snooki seems to have got the short end of the sartorial fashion stick, getting stuck in a matronly looking black cocktail dress. Out of all the pieces from Chado Ralph Rucci’s collection, we think they could have done better by choosing a dress that would suit Snooki a bit better.
