Michelle Obama wasn’t the only wife on stage celebrating a monumental victory last night. Second lady Jill Biden was right up there with her, toasting to a second term in a sleeveless blue sheath by NYC-based designer Susana Monaco, who’s got to be having a pretty darned good day today herself.
Monaco, a first generation American (her parents immigrated from Italy), tweeted earlier in the day that Biden wore her boiled wool coat and matching dress in peacock blue to cast her ballot, and it looks like the ensemble stayed on her back all the way into the wee hours of the morning. Biden took off the coat before stepping out under the bright lights, revealing a fitted knee-length dress with a leather band and belt at the waist, complementing MOBama’s look without making us see double.
She paired the dress with a subtle turquoise pendant and dark pumps — though, of course, you could hardly see the shoes once all of the confetti hit the floor.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
