Ever since the demise of The City we’ve been jonesing for our Joe Zee TV fix, which is why we’ve been eagerly awaiting his new show “All On The Line”, which is set to air this spring on the Sundance Channel. Thankfully, Zee posted a preview of the show to Facebook, which follows the Elle creative director as he works with struggling designers to revamp — and monetize — their lines.
When we first heard about the show, we likened it to Project Runway — but with actual buyers instead of celebrity judges. Zee seems to feel the same way.
“Sundance viewers are very savvy. This show is no nonsense. This show is not a game. It isn’t about the elimination of contestants. You get to see an inside view of how the design process works and how concept goes to reality.”
But the show isn’t without Zee signature bon mots. Take, for example, this exchange between Zee and a designer.
Zee: “I know you love a slutty fabric…”
Designer: “I prefer ‘sexy’.”
Zee: “Well, the difference between slutty and sexy is three more inches on your dress.”
