After mega-hyped collaborations with Peter Pilotto and Phillip Lim, Target have announced that CFDA-winning designer Joseph Altuzarra will be fashioning up a limited-edition collection of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories for fall.
“As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion,” Altuzarra said in a press release this morning. “It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel,” said Joseph Altuzarra, the brand’s designer and creative director. “I’ve admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in women everywhere.”
The collection will be available Sept. 14 at most Target stores in the United States and Canada, as well as Target.com. It will feature 50 pieces, a mix of iconic Altuzarra silhouettes with designs created specifically for Target, pricded from $17.99 to $89.99 for apparel and lingerie, and $29.99 to $79.99 for shoes and accessories. Complimentary thigh gaps are not said to be part of the collaboration at this early stage.
Altuarra’s brand of ladylike luxe is one of the highlights of the New York Fashion Week calendar, so get ready for some long-ass come September. If it includes any fluffy plaid blanket dresses, we’ll see you there with bells on. And by bells we mean manicures sharpened in to ice picks.
