NYFW: JSong Way Tried to Restore Your Faith In Sequined Dynasty Jackets

Yesterday, JSong Way showed your average collection of breezy shift dresses for people who use “summer” as a verb. Pretty linen this, eyelet that. Yawn. What else is on? This was. Thankfully, this power sequin number made quite the showing. It woke us up from the whole obvious beachy story because it didn’t look like anything else in the collection. We think that this black, midnight blue and sparkly gangreen-colored sequin patchwork recalls the catfight armor worn by the women of the soap opera, Dynasty. The silk collar and standout buttons make this the sort of thing the spunkiest gal at the nursing home might throw on to visit a newly widowed guy way too soon. It’s so tacky we love it. But we could use some ruby red in there, and some linebacker-thick shoulder pads.
