Kanye West is known around the world for his “original” sense of style, right? So why has he been turning up at Fashion Weeks all over the world wearing the same Givenchy garments as other less famous people? Dare we ask, but is ‘Ye losing his magic spark?
West showed up to the Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier shows during Paris Fashion Week wearing the same Givenchy leopard print coat that Brad Goreski was seen in during New York Fashion Week last month. (UPDATE: A source tells us that West and Goreski were at the party at the same time, so there’s a high likelihood that they saw each other. Did ‘Ye see Brad’s jacket and think, “I need one of those”? Probs.) But that wasn’t the worst of it — at Riccardo Tisci‘s Givenchy show just a few days later, West turned up in the exact same Rottweiler-imprinted sweater as Liv Tyler. Which, awkward. (Also, either bad planning or complete genius on the part of whoever’s doing Givenchy’s public relations.)
We know ‘Ye is big into fashion and into big-name brands and all that. But maybe it really is time for him to step away from the things everyone else is wearing and make his own clothes. If he doesn’t, we fear he’s just going to keep showing up places wearing things other people are wearing. And that would be a crying shame.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
