He was rendered by wax sculptor Saskia Ruth, and the figure is freakishly accurate — its facial expression even changes about as often as Karl’s does. According to Fashionista, the sculpture took Ruth almost a year to make.
The wax Kaiser is currently on display at the St. Pauli Panopticon, a wax museum in Hamburg, Germany, which happens to be Lagerfeld’s own hometown. The figure wears the Chanel designer’s usual garb, from his dark sunglasses down to his black leather gloves.
