Karl Lagerfeld Is The Only Person Who Wants 48-Hour Workdays

Karl Lagerfeld is an incredibly busy dude. He designs for Chanel, Fendi, and his namesake label, collaborates with every brand underneath the sun, and takes care of his adorable cat Choupette. How does he fit all that into 24 hours? Well, he doesn’t.

He tells WWD that he stays on track by never taking appointments in the morning, eating lunch at home, and setting aside time in the afternoon and evening for fittings and photography. He even doles out a handy tip to busy bees — keep your mind organized like an “impeccable cupboard”. But alas, the designer still runs into trouble with time management:

“I always have in my mind that there are more hours in the day than 24. But in the end I find out there are only 24 hours…I hope one day we’ll have 48-hour days.”
