When it was announced that the CFDA, Target, and Neiman Marcus were teaming up for a major holiday collaboration, we knew the collection was going to be a big deal. And now model extraordinnaire Karlie Kloss has been named the face of the collab.
Twenty-four designers are creating masstige looks for the collection, which will launch in stores December 1. The pieces are still under wraps, but with brands and designers like Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu, Marchesa, and Rag & Bone involved, the collab is sure to be a bigger hit than Missoni for Target.
The ads are “designed to drive excitement, fuel buzz and curiosity. What’s most important is the talent we’re putting behind this campaign”. And there is indeed a lot of talent — Craig McDean photographed the ads and filmed the commercials, while stylist Alex White and hairdresser Orlando Pita also worked their magic.
The ads haven’t surfaced yet, but they apparently involved “a lot of movement” from Kloss. A spokesperson tells WWD: “Her background and familiarity with movement and dance are perfect.” During the multi-day photoshoot, Kloss baked cookies and two key lime pies, using her grandmother’s famous recipe no less. What a cutie!
