Yesterday, Marc Jacobs showed his latest collection for Louis Vuitton via a custom-made locomotive. Today, Kate Middleton and her grandmother-in-law took a train to Leicester for the kickoff of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee* celebration. Coincidence? Probably. But let’s talk about what they wore.
Kate opted for a dark teal (or “green”, for our headline rhyming purposes) skirt suit, black suede pumps, and a black velvet fascinator. And while the look is conservative, it is also good. Kate should wear that shade of teal every single day. Also, dare we describe the flare of her jacket as a peplum? It would make us so happy if we could.
The Queen looked fresh as a daisy in hot pink, but we’re really into her two-tone almost-top hat.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
*What is a Diamond Jubilee, you ask? It’s a very fancy way of saying a “party commemorating 60 years of The Queen’s reign”.
