Kate Middleton Is Wearing French Connection In Her Official Portrait

It should come to no surprise that Kate Middleton isn’t wearing a high-end designer in her official portrait — she’s wearing French Connection. And guess what? The top is on sale!

Kate sat for British artist Paul Emsley twice in 2012, and he completed the painting after three and a half months. Grazia reports that Kate is wearing the navy version of the Sub Silky Tie Top from French Connection in the portrait. The sleeveless top comes in three other colors, and is currently on sale for around $45.87 from around $91.73. The evergreen, rust red, and navy hues are all sold out, but a white version is still avalable in UK sizes 12, 14, and 16.

Those with eagle eyes are sure to notice that Kate is wearing a long-sleeved, not sleeveless, blouse in the portrait. We think that Emsley took photos of Kate during the sittings (because who knows how long the Duchess would have had to sit still in a chair?), and added the sleeves later to keep her modest. We’ve reached out to a French Connection spokesperson for a comment, and will update once we hear back!
