The Duchess formerly known as Kate Middleton famously decided against hiring a stylist, but that doesn’t mean she can’t get a little help from a personal shopper or two.
Kate’s upcoming North American trip will require quite a few outfits, and Grazia is reporting that she has employed the help of personal shoppers at both Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. (She also managed to swing by the Alexander McQueen corporate office solo.) Personal shoppers are indeed different from stylists. Personal shoppers pull pieces from the stores they work at — it’s an efficiency thing. Conversely, stylists style complete looks. That is to say, we can imagine Kate would benefit from efficient shopping trips, but understand why she would not be interested in someone styling her entire wardrobe.
Also! While doing our daily perusal of royal couple photos, we found something quite interesting! Yesterday Kate and Prince William attended a medal ceremony for the Irish Guards on Armed Forces Day. Kate wore a smart navy dress coat, which was clearly military-inspired with its epualets and double-breasted front. She also wore a lovely hat and…a princess charm bracelet! Well, at least that’s what we think it is?
The silver link bracelet has a single charm engraved with the letter C topped by a crown. It’s unclear if the C is for Catherine or Cambridge, and we’re so curious who gave it to her! Was it William? Or perhaps the Queen? Do all the royals have them? We’re intrigued, to say the least.
Here’s the bracelet:
