Barbie Is Making Dolls For Kate And Will’s First Wedding Anniversary

Help us decide whether this is cute or creepy. Mattel, the company that makes Barbies, is making a limited edition of dolls that look like Kate Middleton and Prince William to celebrate the couple’s first wedding anniversary.

Which means that if you have a spare $100 laying around on April 29, and you just happen to be near a computer, you can purchase two little dolls dressed almost exactly the same way Kate and Will were on their wedding day a year ago. Reuters reports that the Kate doll will be wearing miniaturized versions of the real Kate’s custom Alexander McQueen gown and vintage Cartier tiara. Meanwhile, the Will doll will wear a replica Irish Guards uniform.

The dolls are a fitting tribute to a marriage that hasn’t been commemorated or immortalized in any other form at all, and an honor for the two of them. Other couples who were made into dolls include Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Lucillle Ball and Desi Arnaz. Can we think of a better way to commemorate the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made it to the one-year mark without any apparent stress at all? Sure!

If you’re interested in purchasing the dolls, you’ll soon be able to pre-order the set on BarbieCollector.com
