Kate Middleton sure has been busy lately, what with cheering on Prince William‘s cousin Zara Philips in the Olympics, playing various sports in pretty dresses and wedge heels, and watching Queen Elizabeth fall from the sky during the Opening Ceremonies. Today, however, she took some time away from this week’s many sporting events to attend the Creative Industries Reception at the Royal Academy of Arts, wearing a draped Roksanda Ilincic dress, suede pumps, and sparkly earrings.
This is not the first time the royal has donned this particular Ilincic creation, but while last year she wore it during the day with her shining locks flowing free, this time her glittery accessories and formal updo made it far more cocktail-ready. It is likewise not the first time she has chosen a pale gray-blue shade this week. And though we love us some Christopher Kane around here, I, for one, was not into the matronly dress the duchess chose to meet Michelle Obama on Friday. Especially since the latter went for a younger and more daring J. Mendel look despite being nearly twenty years the duchess’ senior.
On the other hand, we think this Ilincic frock definitely hits the mark. Do you agree?
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
