The Duchess of Cambridge isn’t exactly a party girl (despite what certain tabloid headlines might suggest), so it’s not every day we get to see her pull a glamorous evening gown out of her closet. But lo! Tonight she stepped out for a gala dinner at Middle Temple Hall in London to celebrate the University of St. Andrews‘ 600th anniversary in a long lace Temperley London number.
We last saw Middleton wear the look to the War Horse premiere in January, however she switched up the look slightly this time, swapping in a bright red Alexander McQueen clutch for the black velvet one she carried on the previous outing — all the better to match the poppy she had pinned to her breast in honor of Remembrance Day.
She was also accompanied by another stylish accessory: Prince William, whom she met at the university back in 2001. We can only imagine the trip down memory lane they must have had — wonder if anyone brought up that oh-so-infamous see-through dress?
