We’re not sure why exactly we find this video of Kate Moss being hounded by paparazzi at LAX so heart-wrenching. Maybe it’s the relentless flashes, or the look of sheer fear on the normally subdued Moss’ face. Or maybe its the fact that poor Lila Grace is stuck in the middle of it, but one thing is for sure: it’s not for the faint of heart.
According to The Star, the video is Exhibit A in a campaign to toughen California’s laws against paparazzi.
Passed with a 43-13 vote on Tuesday, the new law, once it’s signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, would fine photographers up to $5,000 if they break traffic laws or interfere with the operation of a celebrity’s car. They could also face a year in jail.
As Racked sagely points out, “Yesterday’s bill passed 13 years to the day that Princess Diana was killed in a car accident on a Paris road while being pursued by paparazzi.”
