David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone are opening their first London outpost on Wednesday, and to celebrate the new store, they unveiled the brand’s first print ad campaign, which features none other than perennial Brit It-girl Kate Moss.
The designers are originally from London, but opened their business in America in 2002, and they’ve decided that it’s a good time to go back. Perhaps to cash in on the influx of tourists due to the Olympics? Anyway, the Rag & Bone store is located in London’s Chelsea area, and features two floors, exposed brick walls, Mad Men-esque ottomans, and a staircase made from an old railway platform. Neville and Wainwright wanted a “Wild West-meets-Glastonbury Festival feel”.
Neville explains to WWD:
“We’d been looking for a store in London for quite a long time. We both grew up here, and the opportunity finally presented itself in the form of an old stone bank.”
More about future opportunities: the duo is planning to open a store in Seoul, South Korea next September, expanding their store in Tokyo, Japan, and hoping to open a location in Paris. Busy busy!
