Kate Moss is eleven collections deep at Topshop, and for her twelth, the brand decided to do what so many fashion powerhouses have been doing as of late: make a video, of course! Karl’s doing it, Louboutin is doing it, David Lynch and Dior are doing it, so why not Kate?
And who better to film the video then Nick Knight, the man who arguably spearheaded the recent fashion film movement? The director and photographer, who also founded SHOWstudio.com and has worked with Kate for various projects in the past, shot the video, which features the model seductively dancing against a blinding spotlight.
The video wasn’t solely Knight’s vision. According to Grazia, Kate chose the background music herself (“Be Brave” by The Strange Boys), which we promptly downloaded after watching the fashion short. If Kate chose it, it must be cool, right?
But back to the clothes. We wish we could tell you more about the collection: some details on the materials, the colors, the aesthetic that we’ll see in stores beginning this Thursday. But for better or worse, that is simply not what this video is about. (Although we’re pretty sure that the last dress featured — a three-quarter sleeved white lace mini with a keyhole back — will be a staple in our summer wardrobes.)
So while we may not be able to provide you with constructive commentary on the clothing, we’re going to go ahead and assume you’re just like us, which is to say: mesmerized by anything Kate Moss does. So without further ado: watch Kate lift up her skirt and dance like she’s at next year’s Coachella!
