We’re happy for supermodel Kate Moss‘s impending nuptials, and we’re sure like every bride-to-be, she’s busy finding a location, finding the right food, selecting the right flowers, finding a band (because her fiance Jamie Hince‘s band, The Kills, will no doubt be off duty that night), and generally dealing with all the little details that go hand in hand with planning a wedding. So when we read this morning that she’s also going to add designing her own wedding dress to the list, we couldn’t help but scratch our heads.
Nevertheless, designer Vivienne Westwood told The Daily Mail, “I think she’s designing it herself.” Because, you know, more stress is a good thing.
We don’t doubt Moss’s skills as a designer — after all, she did that line for Topshop for a long time. And Westwood says she has the skills to pull it off.
“She has done her own fashion range and she knows about clothes. She knows what she is doing, she doesn’t need my help.”
But Moss is a supermodel, not Superwoman, and we’re sure that at some point she’s going to need someone’s help. We’re big believers in grown women doing and wearing whatever they please, we just don’t know why Moss, who could have literally any designer (and we mean any designer) make a gown for her would put herself through the stress of doing it on her own. But more power to her — we can’t wait to see what this dress looks like.
