This interview with Kate Upton answered a burning question that we’ve had ever since she first burst onto the scene with her SI swimsuit cover.
Kate had some very positive things to say about body image when Refinery29 caught up with her on the red carpet at the Samsung Galaxy launch, which were good to hear in the wake of that crazy controversy where a pro-anorexia site called her fat:
“I think its important for all girls to be healthy — for them to feel confident about their body. If you’re worried about how you look or about what other people are thinking, you’ll never enjoy your own life.”
She also commented on her range of editorial work and how she doesn’t have a favorite type of shoot.
“You know, I enjoy all of my shoots. They all offer something different. Different people, different interviews… I wouldn’t be able to answer that.”
And in case you, like us, have ever wondered what Kate’s parents think of her more risqué shoots, this is what Kate says her mom thought of that recent nude editorial:
“Semi-nude! I think they were done in a really beautiful way, a tasteful way. She thought they were very beautiful.”
There you have it! Now if only we knew what she thought of Kate’s rendition of the Cat Daddy…
