When you’re someone whose M.O. involves cupcake bras and Smurf heads, showing up in a skirt by a high-concept designer qualifies as a pretty surprising switcheroo.
Katy Perry may be known for kitschy performance getups, but for Saturday’s sing-a-long with The Rolling Stones’ 50 & Counting Tour, she toned it down and opted for a Matchu Kahn digital print mini from Mary Katrantzou, aka the master of textiles.
Some things never change, though. Over-the-knee Giuseppe Zanotti boots were Katy circa “Wide Awake”, as were the rather boring dark lip and curling-iron waves. Even more disheartening? She wore the silk skirt hiked up over a body-con leather bustier-top dress so it looked like the tiny apron part of a French maid’s uniform.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
