Keith Richards Wears a Saint Laurent Track Jacket in Tokyo

I’ve made no secret of my admiration for Keith Richards‘ style and every time he hits the stage, I’m watching very closely. As a fashion editor I was obviously thrilled when Hedi Slimane designed a series of Saint Laurent pieces for Keef, to wear during The Rolling Stones: 50 Years and Counting tour (I was lucky enough to go to three shows), including a leather waistcoat, jacket, T-shirts, and silk scarves.

The Stones are currently touring in Tokyo and during a performance the other night, Richards hit the stage in another Slimane design, but it was something slightly unexpected: a track jacket. While some might accuse the piece of being normcore, we refuse to acknowledge it as such because Richards’ personal style is the antithesis of normcore. Furthermore, the blue silk teddy jacket is fresh off the runway from the London men’s fall collections.

We’re already contemplating investing in our own track jacket, as it will go perfectly with this season’s ever-present trainer trend. See the design, below:345802_YM61U_4068
