Confidentiality agreements suck, but they are sort of legally binding. That’s why actor/model/fashion commentator/designer/singer Kelly Osbourne can’t talk about the jewelry collection she’s working on. So we’re going to talk about it for her.
Osbourne, currently the face of Madonna’s Material Girl line of clothes and accessories, talked to WWD about everything (but her jewelry collection) at a recent event for the brand in Los Angeles. She called her gig as spokesperson for the brand “the coolest thing that’s ever happened,” though we’d venture that some of her other professional ventures have been just as cool, if not cooler. (Yes, we loved Osborne’s version of Papa Don’t Preach.)
But somewhere during the course of the interview, Osbourne mentioned her other jobs and glossed over the fact that she’s currently hard at work on this jewelry line that she can’t speak publicly about.
“I am just getting it where I want it to be, but I’m not allowed to discuss it just yet,” she said.
It’s sort of sad to us that there are cool people working on (what we hope will be) cool things who can’t talk about what they are. Is it costume jewelry? Is it part of the Material Girl line? Can we get it at Claire’s? Is Iris Apfel involved in any way? Why don’t you want us to know?
Maybe she’s following the Tom Ford way of doing things and not letting anyone see her jewelry collection until the very last minute possible. Or maybe she’s still in the super preliminary stages and really doesn’t even know what it’s going to look like yet? So many questions unanswered. So much opportunity for buzz lost.
Still, we’re intrigued. If anyone knows anything about the collection, let us know!
