People magazine reports that the singer (Rowland, we mean) is one of a number of people who have been referring to the baby, whose gender has not been confirmed by either of its parents, as a “she.” Other sources have used feminine pronouns to describe the unborn child as well, but none of them are close enough to Beyonce to be credible named sources — or to be the kind of bold-faced name you can use to write a story about the matter.
So how do we know it’s a girl? Rowland told Bang Showbiz about the trouble she’s having finding appropriate gifts for the long-awaited child. She said:
“I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.”
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been famously private about many aspects of their relationship as long as their relationship has been a thing, which has sort of made us think we won’t find out anything about the baby until they want us to. But if Rowland, who has to have good enough press training to know better, is telling everyone this baby is going to be a girl, it’s probably going to be a girl. A girl who’s going to look really, really good in the House of Dereon line of baby clothes!
