Kenneth Cole Exploits a Foreign Crisis via Twitter (Again) [Updated]

Kenneth Cole, a man with an eponymous foundation dedicated to social change, has yet again taken to Twitter to unabashedly use life-and-death political affairs as a means of pushing sales. In 2011, the designer left a bad taste in our mouths by linking the crisis in Egypt to his latest spring collection, and now he asks that his followers forget the threat of war in Syria and instead mind their footwear selections:

You might be shocked, but remember this is the guy who featured his inimitable boots as part of a “politically charged” campaign in 2006:

On Saturday we’ll be attending Cole’s Spring 2014 presentation and if we can spare of few moments from applauding his infamous warm weather wares, we plan on surveying attendees on their thoughts about his latest irreverent tweet. Stay tuned.
