At a press conference for the watchmaker Sector, Kris Humphries finally spoke publicly about his separation and impending divorce from the reality TV star. Us Weekly reports that the terms of his sponsorship deal with the brand includes a cash payment of $150,000, and that proceeds from sales of the brand will go to the Humphries Foundation, which provides education and health support for disadvantaged youth.
Back at the press conference, Humphries touted the brand as one that gelled completely with his life and style, and said that he was thankful for its presence in his life:
“I’m happy to be here,” Humphries told reporters. “As you all know, this has been a difficult time in my life, and I’m so grateful [for] my friends at Sector for their unwavering support.”
“It truly represents who I am both on and off the court,” he said. “I’ve been a watch and fashion lover my entire life and a competitor and the no limit tag is really about how I approach my career.”
Far be it from us to say when its appropriate for a man to address the concerns the public has about his personal life, but we’d be more inclined to believe that Humphries is getting the help and attention he needs if he weren’t openly knee-deep in a watch-selling scheme. But with the NBA lockout going on, we guess everyone is doing what they have to do to keep the lights on.
