Seeing as New York is consistently topping 90 degrees before noon, this week’s pretty much a write-off in terms of personal appearance. But celebrities don’t get to play the heatwave card, and have to resort to cooling techniques that don’t involve nudity or iced coffee cups glued to the face.
So we’ve gotta hand it to Kristen Wiig et al. for proving there is indeed a way. Last night The Cinema Society and Brooks Brothers hosted a screening of Wiig’s new film Girl Most Likely at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in NYC, where legs and white lace ran rampant. The funny woman of the hour wore an A-line mini dress from Viktor & Rolf’s’s Resort 2014 collection, adorned with a perforated leather bib and anchored with nude Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.
Perpetual jealousy inducer Olivia Palermo worked summer layers with a white chiffon shift and sheer, embroidered button-up, and Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi opted for silver flats with her well-ventilated crochet. At the other end of the monochromatic spectrum were Nora Zehetner and Flora Collins, the latter of whom seems to have inherited her mother’s sartorial chops.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
