Just like us after a particularly rowdy weekend, Lady Gaga has taken to Facebook to explain the decision making process behind one of her newest tunes, Fashion Of His Love. The Mother Monster dedicated the song to her relationship with the late designer Alexander McQueen.
McQueen is, of course, having a pretty big moment as it is — thousands of people have visited his exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum, and we have no doubt thousands more will flock to see Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress, designed by McQueen’s protege Sarah Burton, when it goes on display later this year. Being immortalized in song by Lady Gaga is the icing on a very, very sweet cake.
The lyrics explore Gaga’s relationship with the designer, which according to the song was moored by the kind of plutonic love that made her feel confident and secure in herself when nothing else could. I never was the kind of girl / That’s naturally sure when it comes to love, oh no! / I was insecure, insecure! she sings. You know that I’d never cheat on a man / ‘Cause I’m not like that / I’m physically crafted to be / As fitting as McQueen .
And we’ve gotta say, she wears it well. You can listen to the song below:
