The visual language of Lady Gaga‘s upcoming album Born This Way has been established since she released the record’s first single of the same name — it’s all about black and white photography, weird facial protrusions, and a bit of biker chic. The album drops May 23, but today Gaga tweeted the album art, and it’s certainly in keeping with her current aesthetic.
A joint Haus of Gaga/Nick Knight production, the cover has Gaga as a motorcycle. Yes, as a motorcycle, not on a motorcycle. Gaga’s body is literally a part of the bike. This makes us sad because it means there are no clothes for us to obsess over! Alas, the pop superstar is rocking her now-signature face bumps, heavy black eye makeup, and killer red lips.
We can’t quite decide what we think. Is it cool? Is it cheesy? If it’s cheesy, is that the point? Gaga always has us asking the important questions, folks! Check out the album cover below, and tell us what you think in the comments. As a bonus, we’ve also included Gaga’s latest (and leaked!) single “Judas” for your enjoyment.
Only the audio for “Judas” is available, but you can bet we’ll be analyzing the hell out of the video (as is our way) when it’s released:
