If you’re going to be a fly on Lady Gaga’s wall, Gay Pride weekend in New York City is as good a time as any, and thanks to her creative confidante Terry Richardson, with whom she’s working on a documentary, we’re in on all the charades.
It all begins in Gaga’s dressing room and boudoir prior to her making a surprise appearance at a pride rally, where she would make a speech condemning anti-gay violence. Richardson snapped Gaga on her Macbook practicing the speech in front of the mirror while getting her makeup done. When she’s finally all dolled up, she smizes for the camera and channels Marilyn Monroe in a black Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit with a sweetheart neckline, red lips, and her signature bleach blonde hair. Eventually we see her hitting the streets among rainbow flags and smitten fans. It also appears that she made her entrance in a less grand fashion than we’re used to from Mother Monster, arriving in a vintage red car rather than an enourmous egg.
The rest of the Terry’s Diary images include close-ups of Gaga during another makeup session, in which fake lashes are applied and her head shaved, which is something we can relate to before a night out on the town.
View the 19 up-close-and-personal images below, and keep your fingers crossed that Terry will keep on sharing because the internet’s been seriously lacking in the Gaga department lately.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
