We’ve given up trying to decode Lady Gaga’s various artistic ventures and anti-advertising/reverse psychology campaigns ahead of the November release of her new album ARTPOP, and have chosen to focus on the facts: She’s here, and she’s naked. Again. This time for the September issue of V magazine, which made a promise via Twitter to reveal the four Lady Gaga covers one-by-one in exchange for RTs.
It took mere hours for V to reveal the first one, lensed by Inez van Lambsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and showing Gaga in actual body-covering clothes by Saint Laurent Paris. In the accompanying spread, however, she’s topless again, slathered in mud and appropriating a Calvin Klein tank as a sort-of skirt. Because, you know, art and stuff. The remaining three covers are also shot by Inez and Vinoodh, and styled by Versace, Armani and Balenciaga.
Update: More photos from the spread are here, and featuring contortionist poses and the epic crotch grab to end all crotch grabs. See all the images below.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
