Lady Gaga’s Male Alter Ego Returns For “Yoü & I” Cover

Sometimes Lady Gaga wears facial prostheses, sometimes she emerges from eggs, and sometimes she is a dude.

Her male alter ego Jo Calderone graced the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan a year ago, and now the “mechanic” has resurfaced. Gaga tweeted out the cover for her latest single “Yoü & I” (yes, that is an egregious use of umlaut), and it features none other than a chainsmoking Jo clad in a T-shirt and Dior Homme suit jacket. Read the tweet: “You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don’t love yourself.” (By the way, Inez & Vinoodh shot the pics.)

We’re curious to see if Jo will star in the song’s music video, which should be dropping fairly soon. On Tuesday, Gaga announced via Twitter that the video would be her 1000th tweet; she’s currently at number 992.

What do you think of the images?

And for context, here is Jo fronting Vogue Hommes Japan:
