The couple exchanged vows at Ralph Lauren‘s 17,000 acre Double RL Ranch in Ridgeway, Colorado. The lady Lauren wore a gown designed by Ralph, which one of the guests described to Page Six as “one of Ralph’s most iconic designs.” Among the 200 guests were Lauren Bush’s aunt and uncle, former President George W. and first lady Laura, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, her cousins Jenna and Barbara, and David’s sister Dylan. Lauren Bush’s grandparents, former President George Bush, Sr. and first lady Barbara were unable to attend “because of the altitude at the ranch” but sent a video message which was played at the reception.
The New York Post reports:
The nuptials, which had a Western theme in fitting with the surroundings and the two iconic American families, began with Lauren riding in a horse-drawn carriage to a hand-crafted ceremony structure made out of the ranch’s Aspen trees. Guests watched from carved wooden benches as the sun set over the mountains and Lauren walked down the aisle, arm in arm with both of her parents, Sharon and Neil.
[Ralph] Lauren bought 100 rodeo tickets at $8 each for his wedding guests to see the bucking broncos and steer scrambles on Labor Day. They will sit in the weather-beaten grandstand bleachers under a metal awning, Ouray Fairgrounds manager Susan Long said.
“We don’t have box seats, but we’ll hang a rope around their seats so they’re all together. Mr. Lauren hired vans to transport them from the ranch to the fairgrounds,” Long said. “He and his wife, Ricky, come to the rodeo every year.”
And with that, we’ve never had a better occasion to end a post with, “Mazel Tov!”
