Lena Dunham Plays a ’60s Pin-Up for Her Book Photo Shoot

When we first caught a glimpse of Lena Dunham’s book cover we said the design aesthetic was similar to that of a 1960s self-help book regarding sex and relationships, and it seems we weren’t far off.

Dunham continues to tease us via Instagram by posting behind the scenes images of her recent author photo shoot. One thing is for sure, she is definitely sticking with the retro vibe. The Daily Mail even pointed out that the one black and white shot is reminiscent of the poster for the 1966 counter-culture film Blow-Up.

The author sported high-waisted leopard print briefs and a hot pink cropped sweater while posing seductively for photographer Autumn de Wilde. Stylist Shirly Kurata is also pictured in one of the Instagram snaps, wearing a matching hot pink, mod inspired dress. Talk about some on set solidarity.

It was also announced today that Dunham is set to host SNL on March 8. Is it safe to say she is having the best year ever?
