Liberty Ross Files For Divorce After Stripping Down For LOVE Magazine

Ross and Sanders, pre-scandal, at the May 2012 "Huntsman" premiere.

British model Liberty Ross has received a not entirely welcome resurgence of attention since her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director husband Rupert Sanders was caught in a high school makeout sesh with Kristen Stewart. And shortly after she channeled the spotlight by stripping completely bare in a gorgeous spread for Love Magazine last week, she swung by the courthouse to officially file for divorce from her errant hubby.

One of the central figures in the scandal of the summer, Ross handled herself pretty dang well. While Stewart imploded with a public apology to Robert Pattinson (I still don’t get this), the mother of two focused her attentions on owning the runway in the Alexander Wang show and rocking her occasional red carpet appearances.

The whole husband-cheats-on-wife-with-younger-woman trope unfairly pits Ross in the sad, washed-up wife role, but the photographs for Love, shot by Katie Grand, turn that idea squarely on its head. The smoky-eyed brunette sounds thoughtful and classy in her interview, if understandably reticent with details about the events of the past year. Her only mention of Rupert comes when she says:

I moved to L.A. with my husband Rupert because I felt it was time for him to have his turn. We both like it there and we were both established in what we did, but it felt like things could only excel for him in film in America. I wanted to have children and change my life in that way too. I’m glad I did it; I don’t have any regrets.

Here’s to Ross getting back in the game on her own terms, in a way that’s not inherently linked to her husband’s momentary infidelity. As for what happens to Sanders post-divorce…. Well, at least he’s got these photos to keep him warm at night.
