Let’s revisit the case for a moment. In July 2011, the supermodel revealed that Pinault was the father of Augustin, who goes by Augie. Pinault is the CEO of PPR which owns Gucci, YSL, and a bunch of other luxury brands — and he is also Salma Hayek‘s current husband and the proud pop of their 4-year-old daughter Valentina. Awkward.
Since then, Evangelista, 46, and Pinault, 49, have been in and out of family court negotiating child support for Augie, but to no avail. According to the Associated Press, Evangelista is seeking monthly payments of $46,000 to pay for (among other things) a 24-hour nanny, a bodyguard, and a driver. The New York Daily News adds that Evangelista is demanding Pinault to provide Augie with a home that’s on par with the mansion he has set up for Valentina. (Pinault bought a house in California as part of a trust for Valentina in the event that Hayek and Pinault separate.)
Evangelista and Pinault were back in court yesterday for Pinault’s testimony. Pinault told the court that he and Evangelista had only known each other for four months, and that they had spent about seven days together while they dated in late 2005 and early 2006. In a juicy twist, Evangelista’s lawyer said Pinault wanted Evangelista to get an abortion when he found out she was pregnant.
Pinault explained in court:
“She told me that if I didn’t want to be involved in raising the kid or stay together and be parents together, she would understand, and she will take care of the kid. I told her that I would recognize the baby, and I will take my responsibility.”
Evangelista will testify at a later date.
