People Stylewatch reports that the actress is keeping herself busy while she’s on the mend by designing a line of shoes to complement the leggings she sells with 6126. But these won’t be trendy throwaways — far from it. Lohan wants to make classic, well-made shoes that people will not only want to buy, but that they’ll be able to keep around forever. Whether or not she communicates that vision effectively we’ll allow you to decide. From the People Stylewatch blog:
“I took inspiration from old Hollywood glamour and added a modern edge,” Lohan tells PEOPLE of the line. “It was key to make comfortable, timeless shoes that can easily go from day to night and feel cool, chic and glamorous.”
We’ll go ahead and say that this sketch of a boot Lohan was kind enough to give to People looks a little more Creative Recreation than Roger Vivier, but hey — we don’t know what the rest of the line looks like yet, so maybe the “you don’t know what you’re talking about, Linds” call is too early to make. Lohan’s business partner, Kristi Kaylor, told People that Lindsay is pretty heavily involved in the design process, which involves lots of fun materials sourced in Europe, and that “she’s ultra-prepared, all the time.”
Whether or not America will be prepared to drop between $100 and $450 on a Lohan shoe will be known when the shoes reach stores this fall. Would you buy a Lohan-designed shoe?
