LISTEN: Marc Jacobs’ NYFW Fall 2014 Playlist

Slick tracks for smooth runway gliding.

Ice, ice, baby! Marc Jacobs might have employed blazing hot human wrecking ball Miley Cyrus to front his latest campaign, but his taste in actual music is decidedly better frostier.  To celebrate the conclusion of New York Fashion Week, Jacobs has rounded up eleven slippery-smooth, downtempo dance tracks perfect for runway gliding — or for comprising the soundtrack to tonight’s impending snow blast. It’s all relative, yeah?

From Nicholas Jaar‘s so excellent side-project Darkside to the perpetually shrouded Holy Other, take a listen to what Jacobs has had on repeat this season. Our only gripe is that New York-via-Kuwait artist Fatima Al Qadiri‘s menacing “Ghost Raid” off her third EP Desert Strike – named after the Sega Megadrive game — didn’t open for Marc’s gamer girl little sister (all due respect to the Alice in Wonderland theme song).
