Louise Roe‘s first stop after landing in New York Monday night was to support her Style Media family at a presentation with Betsey Johnson on Tuesday night. Roe, dressed in a Marchesa frock, was on hand to help promote her new show with Jeannie Mai, Pop Style. She spilled some deets about her new show, her Oscars hosting gig for NBC, and of course, John Galliano‘s return to fashion.
Roe has made a career in front of the cameras with shows on BBC, E!, and CW, but Pop Style is different. The live show will incorporate commentary and opinion about all things related to pop culture, and will give viewers an interactive opportunity to chat with Mai and herself.
“The coolest thing is that it’s the first live show that Style has ever done,” she told us last night. “So for me, that’s really exciting, [and an] adrenaline rush. Anything that’s entertainment, music, movies — all with a style twist. If you could mix up a little bit of The Soup, Fashion Police, Fashion Star, and SportsCenter — because it’s going to be that fast.”
Roe is eschewing the rest of Fashion Month to prep for the Oscars later this month, and while she’s looking forward to Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, and Jennifer Lawrence (who will undoubtedly be wearing “100 percent Dior couture”), she’s still in the know about the happenings inside the fashion industry — especially Galliano’s “comeback” with Oscar de la Renta:
“I think that it’s awesome because, you know, he did something wrong, but he’s also an incredible designer. So it would be a shame if the world never got to see his talent again. And I think it’s very brave of what Oscar’s doing, and I’m a big fan of Oscar so I can’t wait to see what comes out of it.”
