Madonna has become the latest celeb to “weigh in” on a Karl Lagerfeld faux pas. In a recent interview with The Sun, the superstar expressed her distaste at Lagerfeld calling Adele “a little too fat” in the Paris edition of Metro last month. Madonna has not been the only one to vilify the designer for his insensitive tongue wagging, but as a fellow musician, she noted how Adele’s singing should not be overshadowed by her physical appearance.
“That’s horrible. That’s ridiculous, that’s just the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t like it when anybody says anything bad about anyone — I don’t like it. Adele’s a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it.”
The seven-time Grammy winner and mother of four went on to offer this advice to the 23-year old-chanteuse in dealing with criticism from the outside world:
“The thing for Adele to remember is at the end of the day, whether you rise or fall, it has so much to do with how you sustain yourself and keep your integrity and your inner strength. It is all about who you surround yourself with — friends and people who really do care about you, and care about your well-being beyond being a superstar. That’s the most important thing.”
We love these delicate pearls of wisdom from Madge. But with 7 million albums sold and 6 Grammys won, we’re guessing Adele will be having the last laugh.
