Yesterday, both Oscar de la Renta and Valentino Garavini told us they thought Marc Jacobs would be perfect for Dior. A few weeks ago, Jacobs’ business partner Robert Duffy told WSJ. he could “definitely… do a couture line.” But in all the drama surrounding Jacobs potential appointment at the famed couture house, one man has remained silent: Jacobs himself. Until today.
Jacobs spoke with CNN’s Alina Cho about the rumors as part of her Fashion: Backstage Pass series.
“It would be an honor. I mean, there’s no question that the two great couture houses in Paris are Chanel and Dior…. I think it would be a very hard thing to turn down.”
But unless Dior meets Jacobs’ demands, he may be doing just that.
