Marc Jacobs or lusty male protagonist of a Harlequin romance novel?
Someone at Vanity Fair deserves a raise, because we have just been given the best Throwback Thursday ever. In lieu of fashion week, the magazine dug into its famous archives and pulled out their profile of Marc Jacobs from 1989. The designer was only 26 year old, and it was Anna Wintour’s first year at Vogue. Can you even imagine a world these two aren’t running things?
Yes, they pulled some amazing quotes from the profile, but it’s the accompanying picture that we can’t get over. It’s just so erotic. He looks like the lusty male protagonist on the cover of a Harlequin romance novel, and we don’t hate it.
Jacob’s dark hair is long and tousled. He is completely nude except for some calf length motorcycle boots and a strategically placed rain slicker yellow sheet. His legs are pretty much open while is arms are crossed, squeezing his pecs together. Ohh, and he had chest hair! Manscaping had ceased to exist. He also looks so very pretty, like a vintage Jared Leto.
We suggest you head over to Vanity Fair to check it out, because reading about Jacobs’ crappy secretary and Studio 54 days is almost half as good as everything going on in this photo.
