Ever since Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig filled our heads with dreams of Marchesa loungewear we could actually afford, our imagination ran wild with dreams of blithely incorporating embroidered silk lace and sequins into our daytime repertoire for fall. Who but the Marchesa girls could make that happen so seamlessly? And now that we’ve been bestowed with the Marchesa Voyage Fall 2013 lookbook, it looks as if our sartorial premonitions came to life.
We’ve tried to put our finger on how to best to describe the designs and we’ve settled on what Pattie Boyd would have worn accompanying The Beatles on their spiritual journey though India with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. She may have spent the majority of the time taking psychedelics and meditating, but we could see her doing so in the collection’s trippy paisley tunics, oriental robes, and silky head wraps.
If we play our cards right, and by that we mean cutting spending by using the ol’ freeze your credit card in a glass of water trick, we’ll actually be able to swathe ourselves in cold weather creations made at the hands of Craig and Chapman. And because we’ve been known to take things a bit too far, we’ve been toying with the idea of going on a pilgrimage to worship at the Marchesa atelier. View the entire lookbook below:
