The White House is going all out for the holidays this year, decking the halls with no fewer than 54 Christmas trees (including that one we saw the Obama ladies ever-so-stylishly picking out earlier this week), commissioning a 300-pound gingerbread replica, and inviting plenty of guests to partake in the merrymaking.
This year’s holiday theme is “Joy To All”, but we think Michael Kors must be feeling the seasonal cheer even more than the rest of us today, since Michelle Obama wore his glittery gold skirt suit this afternoon to hang with military families and show off all of the festive decorations.
And while it may seem that the outfit was tailor made to match the gilded pine cones atop the mantle and twinkling lights in the trees, it turns out the First Lady has worn the ensemble on public outings twice before. Once in 2009 for a holiday reception and again in 2011 for International Women’s Day. She also owns the suit in at least two other colors and materials, according to style blog, Mrs. O.
Happy holidays, from Michelle’s closet to yours!
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
