Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have confirmed their marriage is Kerr-put. The 36-year-old actor and the ageless superfood enthusiast confirmed the split to E! news.
“In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation,” a representative for Bloom told E! “Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.”
The couple got together in late 2007, to the devastation and of Lord of the Rings nerds and horny 14-year-old boys everywhere, and married in the summer of 2010. In January 2011, Kerr gave birth to their son, avid theatre-goer Flynn.
In an interview with Net-a-Porter back in June, the former Angel revealed a few of her marriage tips:
“If you’re really an alpha female, you don’t allow [your partner] to have the space to feel like the man in the relationship. Maybe I am too traditional, but men feel important when you ask for their help, instead of thinking you can do it all on your own.”
“My mistake in my relationships has been to feel that I can do it all on my own: I don’t need a man. That is definitely a mistake. Women generally want to feel loved and appreciated.”
Prospective suitors are now invited to step forward, but will have Kerr’s new love to compete for her affections with.
UPDATE: Bloom has spoken out about the split. He told Katie Couric:
“We love each other, we’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives. There’s no question that, for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn. You know, life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for, but fortunately we’re both adults. I mean I’m 36 now and she’s 30 and we’re professionals and we love and care about each other, and we most of all love our son.”
